Solicitation of Offers for Two (2) Alfa Laval EC700-WFM Heat Exchangers

POET Biorefining Preston (POET), located at 701 Industrial Dr N, Preston, MN, has available for sale two Alfa Laval heat exchangers and associated hardware. Items are available as one (1) lot consisting of twelve (12) pieces, listed and pictured below.

Two (2) EC700-WFM Alfa Laval heat exchangers, approximately 155 to 175 plate cassettes each.
Two (2) top beams
Two (2) vertical beams
Two (2) bottom beams
Four (4) steam pipe transitions

All equipment will be sold "as-is," in the current condition. No bolts, flanges, gaskets, or other hardware not currently installed in the equipment are available in this lot. Offers must be made for the equipment where it now sits at POET. Buyer will be responsible for arranging and paying for equipment loading and transportation. Payment must be made in full before loading or transporting items from POET. Sale of lot is final and non-refundable. Full payment must be received by POET within thirty (30) days of POET accepting an offer to purchase the lot. Failure to make full payment within this timeframe will terminate the sale. Acceptable methods of payment are limited to cash, cashier's check, wire transfer, ACH, or business check. Business checks must clear the bank for the full amount of the accepted offer before the sale transaction is considered to have occurred. Inspections of the equipment can be arranged prior to making an offer to POET.

Items are described in more detail below:

Heat Exchangers - Front View

Heat exchangers are Alfa Laval model EC700-WFM, manufactured in 2001. Serial numbers 30103-04717 and 30103-04718.
Heat exchangers have been in service since 2002, and were taken out of service in 2009.
Upon removal from service, heat exchangers were drained of residual "corn stillage" liquid from the fuel ethanol production process. Heat exchangers have not been opened and cleaned, and still contain residual corn solids.
Ten (10) compression rods holding each heat exchanger plate pack together were cut short to facilitate equipment removal. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for replacement rods if so desired.
Nearly all plate gaskets are original from 2002, and some have developed leaks. A few plate cassettes are suspected of having leaks.
